A ruling is expected any minute now by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton on the controversial Arizona immigration law.
Bolton has made it clear she feels no obligation to rule before the law goes into effect this Friday, July 29.
Last week Bolton heard arguments from both sides of the controversial Arizona law. Two separate hearings were held in Phoenix, the Justice Department made their case against SB 1070 while Arizona Governor Jan Brewer sat listening in the court room. A coalition of civil rights groups also had their say against the law earlier the same day.
The U.S. Justice Department, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Coalition of Latino Clergy, the Christian Leaders League of United Latin American Citizens and other individuals or groups have asked the judge to halt the law, commonly known as SB 1070.
